Impact Resistant Outerwrap Systems

Polyguard X-Wrap™ and X-Wrap™ HD are field-applied impact resistant outerwrap systems designed to protect field joint and mainline coatings from abrasion and mechanical damage during demanding construction activities.

Engineered as a sacrificial outer layer, X-Wrap products provide reliable abrasion, gouge, and impact resistance, helping reduce coating damage, re-pulls, and post-installation repairs while supporting long-term coating performance in aggressive installation environments.

X-Wrap systems are constructed from pre-impregnated woven glass fabric with a moisture-cured urethane resin, allowing for fast, consistent field application without the need for heat, UV light, or resin mixing.

  • X-Wrap™ – Standard impact resistant outerwrap for general HDD and boring applications
  • X-Wrap™ HD – Heavy-duty option providing increased mechanical protection for high-stress installation conditions
